Description

Polydatin is the principal abundant constituent sourced from Polygonum cuspidatum root extract and serves as the glycosylated precursor of resveratrol, bonded with one glucose moiety. Once applied topically or absorbed into the body, it metabolises into trans-resveratrol. Unlike resveratrol, polydatin features good water solubility and robust anti-oxidative stability against discolouration. Coupled with its proven cell-level anti-photoageing and potent anti-inflammatory activity alongside inherent sustained-release traits, it marks a premium specialty raw material formulated for high-end medical skincare and premium-grade nutritional supplements.

Applications

1. In the premium dermocosmetics and functional skin markets, polydatin overcomes the drawback of resveratro: poor water solubility and tendency to cause formulation yellowing. For these merits, polydatin is widely favoured by formulators for anti-ageing and brightening skincare formulations. Polydatin neutralises free radicals generated under UV exposure and safeguards skin cells from photo damage. It works to slow tyrosinase activity and limit melanin synthesis right at its origin; its reliable anti-inflammatory benefits also suit formulations meant to improve uneven pigmentation, leftover acne blemishes and sensitive skin issues.

2.In the dietary supplements and nutraceuticals markets, as a precursor of resveratrol, its bioavailability and absorption show excellent performance in vivo. Due to its efficacy in inhibiting platelet aggregation and regulating blood lipids, polydatin is widely used to produce compound formulations for cardiovascular and lipid health support. Besides, it improves insulin sensitivity, leading to rapidly rising market demand for anti glycation and antiageing supplements targeting middleaged and elderly consumers.

3.Within pharmaceutical research and API precursor fields, polydatin improves microcirculation and alleviates myocardial ischaemic damage for clinical research. Thanks to its inherent water solubility, pharmaceutical R&D institutions are widely used to develop natural active molecular skeletons for targeted anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor.

Advantages

1.We supply high purity polydatin with a purity of ≥98%. It appears as a white to offwhite crystalline powder; when dissolved in water, it forms crystalclear solutions with no precipitation and is odour free.

2.By optimizing the recrystallisation process, residual impurities including emodin and free anthraquinones, are controlled to≤0.1%, which helps solve the challenges of light-induced yellowing and reddening when formulators develop premium whitening and anti-aging creams.

3.We adopt protective encapsulation technology as well as high-efficacy separation and purification technology to isolate natural polydatin without destroying its molecular structures. Generally, this sophisticated process enables our pricing to compete globally.

4.We offer COA, MSDS and TDS that comply with EU and US audit requirements.

5.In terms of pesticide residues, PAHs and microbial limits, as well as heavy metal standards of lead, arsenic, mercury and cadmium, our polydatin fully complies with the stringent standards set by EFSA and California Prop 65, ensuring full compliance for import and export customs clearance and third party spot testing.

6.Whether it is a 1 kg research-grade sample or tonne-scale commercial bulk, our products hold valid non hazardous goods certification, enabling delivery to customers’ laboratories or factories in the shortest transit time with minimal transportation risks.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between Polydatin and Resveratrol? And which should we choose?

A: Polydatin is the natural glycoside form of resveratrol (compared with a glucose molecule), and it is hydrolysed into trans resveratrol in vivo or upon skin penetration to exert its efficacy. Protected by the glucosyl group, polydatin features a stable molecular structure with strong resistance to oxidative discolouration and photodegradation, overcoming the key formulation defect whereby free resveratrol easily triggers yellowing in creams and serums. What’s more, polydatin possesses intrinsic hydrophilicity and superior water solubility compared with resveratrol, enabling effortless solubilisation and excellent spreadability within aqueous formulations for formulators.

Q2: Is your Polydatin a 100% natural extract? And does it contain any synthetic ingredients?

A: Our high-purity polydatin (≥98%) is entirely extracted from Chinese medicinal raw materials, Polygonum cuspidatum. In the upstream production, we adopt a protective non-destructive purely physical separation process for high purity crystallisation, preserving its native glucosyl structure intact. Free from any synthetic ingredients, our product meets overseas specifications for 100% naturally sourced extraction.

Q3: As a skincare ingredient, what’s the control index for Emodin? And will it cause discolouration or skin irritation?

A: For cosmetic grade and premium nutraceutical grade polydatin, emodin content is ≤0.1% and virtually undetectable via HPLC analysis. Therefore, our ingredient has high purity with a white to off white crystalline powder, eliminating risks of skin irritation and formulation discolouration.

Q4: What’s the core efficacy and mechanism of your Polydatin?

A: Cell-level anti-photoageing: it scavenges free radicals induced by UV rays and protects skin cells from photodamage.
Gentle yet effective brightening:it inhibits the tyrosinase activity to block the formation of melanin at the source.
Potent anti inflammatory and skin repairing efficacy: it down-regulates cutaneous inflammatory factors to relieve erythema and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in sensitive skin and facilitate skin barrier repair post aesthetic procedures, outperforming resveratrol.
