Resveratrol, a natural polyphenolic compound and not a type of flavonoid, is found in numerous plants, such as grapes (especially red wine), polygonum cuspidatum, peanuts and berries, etc. When plants are exposed to UV rays, fungal infections or mechanical damage and other external stresses, they produce “Phytoalexin” in order to protect themselves.
